Denim power: Unraveling the Undervalued

The Green Nomad Project embarked on a mission to spotlight the often-overlooked issue of textile waste in our community while celebrating women’s resilience and strength. We initiated collection drives across Miami, leveraging retail stores and fashion schools as drop-off points, and partnered with our local Goodwill to exchange these garments for denim.

The result? An exclusive upcycled denim collection that’s as unique as the stories behind them.

In today's society,  we often carelessly discard massive quantities of denim daily,  unaware of its enduring worth and environmental consequences. This disregard reflects how we often overlook marginalized communities, especially women from black, indigenous, and minority backgrounds. To amplify our campaign, we collaborated with Danié, @journeyofabraid, a Mexican artist whose iconic traditional braid is not only a style statement but also a feminist manifesto.

We admire and respect nature. We value women, artisans, and their traditions.
